Terms of Service
Last updated 21 September 2026
The rules for using Jinni, written to be read. They cover your account, what job seekers and employers agree to, Premium subscriptions and what happens if something goes wrong.
1.Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Jinni Tech ("Jinni Tech", "we", "us"), the company behind Jinni. They cover the Jinni mobile app, the employer dashboard and this website (together, "Jinni"). By creating an account or using Jinni, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Jinni.
2.Who can use Jinni
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. If you use Jinni for a company, you confirm that you are authorised to act for it, and these terms bind that company too.
3.Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person, one account. Do not share, sell or transfer it.
- Tell us at jinnitechnology@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.
4.For job seekers
Your profile, CV and skills must be truthful and your own. Jinni checks the skills you claim against your CV, and a match is a suggestion, not a promise of an interview or a job. Employers make their own hiring decisions, and any job offer or employment is between you and the employer.
5.For employers
Employers must pass our verification before posting. You agree that your jobs are real, lawful and accurately described, and that you will:
- not charge candidates any fee to apply, interview or be hired;
- not discriminate unlawfully against candidates;
- use candidate data only to recruit for the role they applied to, and protect it under the law;
- not contact candidates for anything other than genuine recruitment.
We may remove jobs or suspend employers that break these rules, and we may report fraud.
6.Acceptable use
Do not use Jinni to:
- post false, misleading, offensive or illegal content, or impersonate anyone;
- harass, threaten, scam or spam other users;
- scrape, copy or harvest data, or access Jinni by automated means without our permission;
- break, probe or overload our systems, or get around limits such as daily swipes;
- break any law, or infringe anyone's rights.
7.Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload, such as your CV, profile and messages. You give Jinni a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, display and share it only as needed to run Jinni, for example to show your profile to employers or check your skills. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others already hold a copy (for example, an employer you applied to) or the law requires us to keep it.
9.Jinni Tech's rights
Jinni, its design, software, logos and brand belong to Jinni Tech. You may use Jinni as intended, but you may not copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer it. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
10.Suspending or closing accounts
You can stop using Jinni and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, put others at risk or expose us to legal liability. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why first.
11.Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Jinni reliable and to verify employers, but Jinni is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, that you will find a job or a candidate, or that everything other users post is accurate. Always use your own judgement, especially before sharing personal details or accepting an offer.
12.Limits on our liability
As far as the law allows, Jinni Tech is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost earnings, lost opportunities or lost data, or for what other users do. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a problem, please contact us first at jinnitechnology@gmail.com so we can try to fix it. If we cannot resolve it, the courts of Nigeria will have jurisdiction.
14.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Jinni afterwards means you accept the new terms.
